These were such a hit, I decided to make a few more of the resin art pieces for my favourite four year old.

Did I mention I can be a bit obsessive:)

Resin Art

For those of you that know me personally, you know that I am the type of person that has the tendency to become obsessed. Whether it is with a new t.v. show, a brand of clothing, but especially with a new craft. And right now, that craft is resin art. It started with a few Christmas gifts and then blossomed from there. Soon enough, I was scouring the house for anything flat to pour this thick liquid on:)

What little girl wouldn't love candy, stickers, clothes and a cute little lunch pail??

When I gave this to my niece on her birthday this weekend she said "Wow, Auntie M, look what you made me". She is the cutest!!

Valentine Treats

It is safe to post these images now that these have arrived to a few special out of town kiddos.

Party!

Heading to my nieces 2nd birthday party today! Can't wait to eat cake and celebrate. My cousin Tam has done a great job of decorating for the party so I will post more photos tomorrow. Stay tuned . . .

Suitcase full of goodies

I sent my cousin's kids this suitcase full of goodies for Valentines day. Actually, in normal Mere fashion it arrived two days after valentines day:)

 
I didn't have time to take any photos so these are courtesy of my blackberry. There were cars, tattoos, and growing dinosaur eggs for the boys, and a princess, stickers, and silly bands for Ella. Ohh, and a cd of new music for my cousin thrown in. She is a running fanatic so I made her a mix of upbeat fun music to get the job done. Each item has an initial on it corresponding to their names. It should be hours of fun.

More pillows

Forgot to post the pillows that went together with Maddie's quilt. They are much smaller than the other ones I made over the holiday coming in around 12 x 12 and 10 x 10.

I didn't have enough fabric left over from the actual quilt to make the pillows so these fabrics are from a trip to The Workroom. Who would have guessed:)

Kids DIY Birthday Packages

This is a great little way to put a special touch on your favourite little ones birthday. 

I purchased the wooden boxes from Michael's craft store, and added vinyl graphics onto the front of each corner. 

 I then dug into my paper stash and picked two coordinating sheets for each box to go along with the vinyl graphic.

And now came the fun part of filling it with tonnes of goodies. These ranged from cars, candies, and sidewalk chalk for the boys.

 

And hair clips, glow in the dark necklaces, and my little pony for the girls.

All in all, super fun and easy project for all. As much as I would like to claim this idea as my own, it stemmed from Susan Songs feature on Martha Stewart Weddings. I just modified it to fit my occasion.

DIY - paper bag packaging show and tell

So, here is the paper bag DIY I was talking about. When I was creeping on Elsie's blog I came across the project from Mandi (whose blog I also stalk on a daily basis). I had a package that I was sending my cousin Kim's kids so I thought, why not try it. This is how it turned out: 

 

I added rub ons to the Whole Food paper bags. There is something about paper bags that reminds me of my childhood. Shopping at Safeways is always a fond memory for me where they would strategically place each on of your food items into that study thick paper bag.

 

There was actually no real purpose for sending the gift other than the kiddos had run out of their Valentine's treat and put in a request for refills. I used clear cello bags (a must have for packaging treats) and then I printed on clear labels from staples.

 

 

This is a robot t-shirt I picked up for Parker on line.

 

Instructions to control consumption. 

 

I wrapped everything inside with bubble wrap, followed the DIY, and stuffed it all in.

 

Fun little project.

Baby gifts

Everyone I know is either pregnant or having a baby. A few of my work friends went in on a gift for one of our Advisor's who just had his 4th child. 4 kids, oh my gosh. I don't have a photo of the adorable little dress with matching striped leggings from the gap that we got him, but I do have a shot of the cute wrapping.
