This is the colour combination of my next quilt commission. Needless to say, I am excited about it!!

There are a tonne of great fabric options in the marketing place right now and I think the end result is going to be fab.

Reno update #1

We bit the bullet and bought our

Don't they look shinny and new?? I am a very loyal brand follower and even though I can't remember the exact appliance in our house growing up that was Kitchen Aid, I remembered the brand. Hence, my choice to stick with it in my adult years.

Time is ticking and we have a few more decisions to make before the renovation starts on August 20th. I had originally thought that I would start a blog to specifically document the renovation on, but lets face it, I can barely keep up with the one blog I have. Lets not bite off more than we can chew. So my lovely followers, I hope you like dust and destruction because you are going to be seeing allot of it over the next couple of months. Stay tuned. 

Happy Canada Day

We celebrated this year with our friends and their kids at our house. It was a duel celebration as it was Rick's birthday as well. We surprised him with a:

It was awesome to get everyone gathered around when it looked like this:

That is Rick above reenacting the art of blowing out a multitude of candles. I didn't have my camera ready, and didn't have my auto focus lense on hence the blur:)

I really wish I had continued to take photos while they cut into the cake because the kids reactions were priceless. Lots of oohs and ahh, and "no way!!"

The night ended with sparkles and glow sticks. Stoph had to get in on that action.

It was a great way to celebrate Canada, Rick, the kick off to a long weekend, and spending time with friends we definitely don't see enough!

Last Sunday

We had another one of our usual:

But my mom was in town, so there was more sitting around and relaxing, which meant I could pull out the old camera and get a few shots of the fam. 

Wynn has gotten into playing hide and go seek. Jods is usually her favourite seeker:)

Maddie isn't usually too far behind and I can't believe how much bigger Piper is getting each week.

This is the usual, typical scene on any given Sunday but I never seem to make the time to grab my camera and take some shots. From now on, I am going to make more of an effort.
